~ Honma and Ishii continued to brawl following the match with plenty of heat showed between the two. They will face off in tomorrow’s G1 main event.

(5) A BLOCK: Tetsuya Naito vs. Doc Gallows
◆Winner: Gallows (8:22) following a Top Rope Hangman’s Noose.
~ Gallows [2 wins, 6 losses = 4 points]
~ Naito [5 wins, 3 losses = 10 points]
~ Gallows with the upset over the high ranked Naito.
[Bushido Notes: I sort of can now see this leading into a future match for the IWGP Tag titles. There has been talks of Sombra or someone joining Naito for the tag league later this year.]

(6) A BLOCK: Hiroyoshi Tenzan vs. Katsuyori Shibata
◆Winner: Tenzan (9:49) with an Anaconda Vice.
~ Tenzan locked in his submission which caused Shibata to pass out, the ref had to call the match.
~ Hiroyoshi Tenzan [2 wins, 6 losses = 4 points]
~ Katsuyori Shibata [4 wins, 4 losses = 8 points]

(7) A BLOCK: Kota Ibushi vs. Toru Yano
◆Winner: Yano (0:50) with the Akakiri.
~ The match started off with a quick pace with Ibushi trying to get the quick pin, though that being Yano’s specialty he caught Ibushi off guard with the quick low blow and the roll-up.
~ Yano [3 wins, 5 losses = 6 points]
~ Ibushi [3 wins, 5 losses = 6 points]

(8) A BLOCK: AJ Styles vs. Bad Luck Fale
◆Winner: Styles (9:53) via pin-fall with his feet on the ropes.
~ The match started out with Fale laying down to Styles for the quick win, but Fale kicked out at 2 (great job at originality… cough nWo cough…). Styles flipped out at Fale not going with the plan as two began to argue. All of Bullet Club looked shocked and tried at a few times to keep the two from hurting each other. The match turned into a big brawl with Fale even launching Style over the top rope. The two brawled all over the outside.
~ Styles bested the big man with his feet on the ropes. The two seemed to have cooled down following the match.
~ Styles [6 wins, 2 losses = 12 points]
~ Fale [5 wins, 3 losses = 10 points]

(9) A BLOCK: Hiroshi Tanahashi vs. Togi Makabe
◆Winner: Tanahashi () with the High Fly Flow.
~ Tanahashi with the win as he positions himself at the top of the block. All that is left now is Tana vs. Styles on 8/14 to determine the winner of the block.
~ Tanahashi [6 wins, 2 losses = 12 points]
~ Makabe [4 wins, 4 losses = 8 points]
~ Tanahashi sent the fans home on a high note by playing the show out with his air guitar solo.
~ Kobashi was on the commentary table throughout the show, but the commentary audio was not on for the live show. Tana and Kobashi shook hands as well when he got to the table side. Always a meaningful moment to see a veteran congratulate a current wrestler.
